About me
I’m a tech lead with a passion for coaching. I use serious games in workshops and training to make memorable impactful sessions for development teams. This, in my experience, is the fastest way to level up.
Human first
I believe that technology should serve people. I struggle with the current state of "big tech" and the way it is impacting our society, so I try to make a difference by working with teams that have a positive impact on the world.
Free flow
Eliminating friction is a key factor in my training. I often question the status quo and help teams break free from established patterns.
Sustainable pace
A healthy high-performance team has a sustainable pace. Quick wins are balanced out with choices that benefit the long term health of team and product.
As a Speaker
I’m very passionate about improvement - of myself, but also of my surroundings. This has driven me to organise PHP meetups, become a public speaker and a coach at WeCamp. I still get a little nervous before going on stage, but I love sharing my knowledge and experiences with others.
As a Leader
Owner @ Future500
Custom software solutions for the web, specialising in PHP/Symfony. Always aiming to deliver high quality solutions that solved the right problem. I am a believer in automated testing, continuous delivery and Domain Driven Design.
CarNext
Technical lead mostly focussing on the PHP part of the stack and intra-team collaboration. CarNext was a scaleup, with over 16 development teams accomplishing the technical goals in a volatile landscape undergoing massive growth. The challenge was one of alignment, between teams as well as getting clear priority and goals from management.
VONQ
I was specifically hired to improve team performance in a time of fast growth of the product & engineering department. I was part of the Recruitment Analytics team, but involved in improving up cross-team communication and creating a culture of continuous learning.
Finance Matters B.V.
Responsible for adopting a large legacy codebase and a (still running) previous version in Visual Basic and porting it to a stable environment in PHP. Also responsible for leading the in-house development team in terms of technical decisions and work process. Working closely with the business to ensure focus on the right issues.
Royal Schiphol Group
Interim technical lead (backend) for the development of the new Schiphol website and mobile application. Working with backend developers in multiple scrum teams to deliver a solid product for the future.
What will it be?
A focused communication workshop, ongoing coaching, a team building exercise, or something else entirely?
